Why We’re Joining the Good Karma Movement

It’s easy to lose sight of the real meaning of the season when you’re in a rush to get everything ready for the holidays and start checking people off your shopping list. So, a few years ago, Kim Krans of The Wild Unknown started the Good Karma movement as a way to change how businesses and consumers view Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday shopping. The movement reframes the typical focus of the season to one of community support and giving back.

In an effort to slow down and help out an important cause this holiday season, we decided to join the Good Karma movement and use this time of the year to give aid to a nonprofit that’s doing important work right now: the California Fire Foundation. They provide communities, firefighters, and the families of fallen firefighters with both financial and emotional assistance. Through several projects and initiatives, the California Fire Foundation gives emergency support to fire departments, provides immediate relief to victims of California fires, and offers an endowment and scholarship program to children of fallen firefighters.

To help with the recent wildfires in the state, the California Fire Foundation is currently providing financial assistance to those who have lost their homes and belongings, doing what they can to help people gain access to food, clothing, medicine, and other items they may need.

For our Good Karma Sale, we’ll be donating $5 from every order to the California Fire Foundation. Plus, we’re giving you 20% off sitewide and free U.S. shipping on any orders you make during the sale (just enter code KARMA at checkout). This is an opportunity for us to help out those in need and keep the true meaning of the holidays in mind: being kind to others. We hope you’ll join us in supporting this incredible cause!
